Abstract

Oil and grease content, above the permitted limits, in domestic and industrial wastewater is a concern for society due to its harmful effect on health, impact on aquatic life, besides may interfere in the efficiency of wastewater treatment, in aerobic and anaerobic biological processes. This work details the determination of oil and grease content in produced water by colorimetric method focusing in the measurement uncertainty. Monte Carlo Simulation approach is compared to the traditional GUM approach. The results show that both approaches are comparable.
