Author's Summary— The cries of street vendors are of interest linguistically and musically. They have been utilized in various types of art. The teacher of a foreign language can employ these cries to develop a heightened awareness of the language as a means of communication. Toward this purpose various dramatic and musical devices are specified. Sources of cries are given in a bibliography.)
