This article describes a profile of the literary traveler in the Pyrenees, in order to provide an analysis that contributes to a better understanding of the readers and their activities, linked to both the promotion of reading and cultural tourism a territory offers. To this end, a case study has been carried out consisting of participant observation in three Pyrenean literary routes, in which a questionnaire has been distributed to attendees. The data obtained in this field has been contrasted with other sources, in order to arrive at a critical reflection of the results. The study of a profile of the literary tourist in Spain is practically non-existent, because they are still a minority, and the institutions that promote such initiatives do not usually collect data on the users who respond to them. The observation of the routes identified and described in the Pyrenees leads to the conclusion that the most sustainable initiatives at this time are those that generate cultural activity around them, and create a reading community
