Abstract
Este artículo propone una aproximación crítica a la obra del artista y poeta italiano Emilio Isgrò (Barcellona di Sicilia, 1937), quien fusionando las nociones tradicionales de imagen y de escritura ha desafiado las concepciones del Arte y de la Literatura como instituciones cerradas y excluyentes. Al mismo tiempo, la obra visual de Isgrò dialoga críticamente con el lenguaje de los mass-media y nos invita a reflexionar sobre conceptos tan controvertidos como son los de representación e identidad. Por nuestra parte, en el amplio marco de la poesía experimental y del arte conceptual repasaremos algunas de las obras más relevantes de Isgrò, e indagaremos todos estos aspectos de su poética atendiendo al diálogo que establecen con la conciencia del límite y el procedimiento artístico de las cancellature.
