Abstract
This article examines the effects of nuclear accidents, highlighting Chernobyl and Goiânia as examples of tragedies that crossed national borders and impacted public perceptions regarding the safety of radioactive materials. The author emphasizes the need for adequate protection protocols to minimize risks and respond effectively to emergencies. The proposal includes creating specialized medical teams and implementing radioprotection measures within the Brazilian Air Force to ensure a swift and efficient response to nuclear accidents.
