Abstract

Modification of polymer LED operating characteristics has been achieved by interposing a conducting, semiconducting, or insulating polymer layer at the interface between the indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode and the emissive polymer. The Figure shows schematically a conducting polymer interlayer (sulfonated polyaniline and hexadimethrine polymer) fabricated by the polyelectrolyte self-assembly technique.
