Abstract

Objective To measure the imaging data of the caudate lobe of liver with the ultrasound measurement for the normal adults and patients with liver disease to provide morphological evidence for clinical ultrasound adult caudate lobe lesions. Methods Though the method of forward-looking ultrasound measurements,we analyzed the differences between gender, age, height, weight, caudate lobe of patients with liver disease form 134 cases of normal adult liver caudate lobe and 34 cases of patients ? liver caudate lobe. Results The front and back diameter:man (2.174 ± 0.416) cm,woman (2.010 ± 0.350) cm and the left and right diameter:man(2.899 ± 0.322)cm,woman (2.683 ± 0.306)cm,the men liver caudate lobe were longer than those of the women. The up and down diameter and the left and right diameter:(5.115 ± 0.583) cm,(2.212 ± 0.367)cm of the young-age group liver caudate lobe were longer than those of the mid-age group:(4,814 ± 0.570)cm,(2.038 ± 0.384)cm and the old-age group:(4.781 ± 0.914)cm,(1.955 ± 0.460)cm.The differences were statistically significant.Liver caudate lobe diameters of too light, moderate, overweight, obese had no significant difference (P> 0.05).The up and down diameter, the front and back diameter and the left and right diameter of the normal adult liver caudate lobe were longer than those of the patients, with statistical significant differences (P< 0.01).Conclusions The front and back diameter and the left and right diameter of the men liver caudate lobe are longer than those of the women. The up and down diameter and the left and right diameter of the young people liver caudate lobe are longer than those of the mid-age group and the old-age group. The every diameter of adult liver caudate has no connects with their weights and heights. The patient liver caudate lobe diameters are longer than those of normal adults. We should care the differences of the liver caudate lobe in physiology and disease characteristics ways when we use ultrasound and its diagnosis to avoid missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis.
