Abstract
Abstract In this research, rapid and efficient preparation of 1,3-diaryl-2,2-dichloroaziridines through the reaction of Schiff base compounds with dichlorocarbene yielded in situ in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as phase-transfer catalyst under ultrasonic irradiation is described. The advantages of this reaction are very short reaction times, excellent product yields, simplicity of the method, and high purity of products.
