Abstract

From the results of ultrafiltration of nonionic surface active agents, we have obtained the conclusions as follows. 1: In aqueous solutions the micelle volume increases with increasing concentration of surface active agents, at least until a few percent. 2: In ethanol solutions, it seems that there are no micelles. 3: In aqueous ethanol solutions, the micelle volume becomes smaller with increasing amount of ethanol, but it is not yet clear the accurate concentration of ethanol, at which the micelle disappears.
