Ukrainian Folk Traditions as the Source of Music Eccentric Thematic Acrobatics

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study and theoretical justification of the structure of thematic acrobatics of the genre using the forms of Ukrainian folk art. At the same time, national music and humor are studied as phenomena inherent in the people of Ukraine.Research methodology. When analyzing music eccentric thematic acrobatics and their elements, an interdisciplinary approach was used, based on the principle of comparative research and the study of the circus as a synthetic form of artistic creation. The principle of historicism is applied in relation to Ukrainian folk traditions.Results. It is found that the connection of music eccentrics with folk art in Soviet and Ukrainian circus science was not systematically considered. Thematic acrobatics of the genre, based on the folk tradition, were forwarded into a separate group. Meanwhile, the influence of Ukrainian folk song and music culture on the genre is enormous. Based on the main comic categories, the author explores in detail how the folklore forms and images in thematic issues are adduced. The author concludes that the Ukrainian folklore theme is not just a decorative frame of the issue, as it was previously thought. It affects all levels of acrobatics construction — its drama, the series of events, and the interpretation of costumes, the characters pattern, and the tools. Numerous examples convincingly illustrate this idea.Novelty. The theoretical insight of the inextricable connection of the structure and style of thematic acrobatics of the genre with the forms of Ukrainian folk art is an innovation of the article.The practical significance. The study can help producers and circus artists find ways to expand the expressiveness palette in music eccentric thematic acrobatics. If the performers choose the Ukrainian folk theme, it will become a full-fledged basis of the acrobatics for them.
