Abstract

In a decision that could have widespread implications for medical practice, the UK General Medical Council (GMC) found consultant paediatric cardiologist James Taylor guilty of serious professional misconduct on March 20. The GMC Professional Conduct Committee (PCC) found that Taylor failed to secure express consent for proceeding to balloon dilation of a stent after cardiac catheterisation.
