Abstract
Kaffir lime peel (Citrus hystrix DC.) has been used in several cosmetic formulations because it has ingredients that are beneficial for skin health, such as antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, skin hydration, and brightening. Sheet masks are one of the most popular and widely used skin care products. This study aims to determine the optimal formula for kaffir lime peel extract essence in sheet masks product that meet the physical quality requirements. This research is a laboratory experiment using kaffir lime peel extract which is formulated in three different concentrations, 3%, 5%, and 7%. The formula was tested for stability using the cycling test method with observed parameters including organoleptic, homogeneity, pH and viscosity. Research shows that kaffir lime peel extract which is formulated in sheet mask preparations produces good homogeneity, does not change color, and pH before and after testing. The viscosity was not statistically difference in preparations before and after the cycling test, indicating that the two formulas are stable. ABSTRAK Kulit jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix DC.) telah digunakan dalam beberapa formula sediaan kosmetik karena memiliki kandungan yang bermanfaat bagi kesehatan kulit, seperti antioksidan, anti-inflamasi, hidratasi, dan pencerahan kulit. Sheet mask adalah salah satu produk perawatan kulit yang sedang populer dan banyak digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan formula optimal essence pada sediaan sheet mask ekstrak kulit jeruk purut yang memenuhi syarat mutu fisik. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental laboratorium dengan menggunakan ekstrak kulit jeruk purut yang diformulasikan dalam tiga konsentrasi yang berbeda yaitu 3%, 5%, dan 7%. Formula tersebut kemudian dilakukan pengujian stabilitas menggunakan metode cycling test dengan parameter pengamatan meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, pH dan viskositas. Penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak kulit jeruk purut yang diformulasikan dalam sediaan sheet mask menghasilkan sifat homogenitas yang baik, tidak terjadi perubahan warna, dan pH sebelum dan sesudah pengujian. Perbedaan tidak bermakna secara statistik pada pengujian viskositas sediaan sebelum dan sesudah cycling test, menunjukkan bahwa kedua formula tersebut dapat dinyatakan stabil.
