Abstract

ABSTRACT Collinder 463 is a relatively poor galactic cluster located near the edge of the Orion arm at a distance of 650 parsecs. The cluster is found to have an age of 1.5 X 1 years and probably contains at least three giants. Differential reddening of 0" 8 across the cluster yields an estimate for R which is consistent with the currently adopted value. Key words: galactic cluster - R - UBV photometry
