Abstract
In Sophocles'Œdipus at Coionus the staging of Theseus the basileus of Athens contrasts him with Creon, Eteocles and Polynices, who, with hybris, are in charge of, or are looking for, a tyrannical power at Thebes. This is in agreement with the transmitted text of Oedipus Tyrannos 873 (Ὑβρις φντενει τὐραννον) and allows a more precise understanding of Oedipus'' transformation from OT to OC.
