Introduction

Edwardsiella tarda is a gram negative, facultative anaerobe, motile bacterium member of the Enterobacteriaceae family [3]. Taking into account its zoonotic potential [6], and its importance in both human and veterinary medicine, a case of typhlocolitis by Edwardsiella tarda in the west region of Santa Catarina state is described. The present report describes a case of typhlocolitis in a cow in the west region of Santa Catarina state, Brazil.
