Abstract

The problem of low water levels in the Ufa River, which is the source of the process water for the Ufa TETs-2 (heating and electric power plant), is described. In dry years there has been a shortage of cooling water, with which the shore pumping station was unable to cope, and a type RN-2E floating river pump station has been brought in to help. The operating principle of this pumping station, which provides a reliable water supply to the Ufa plant, is examined.
