Abstract

Ten species of mites of family Tydeidae are recorded from stored grain in Canada. A new genus, Oakvillea, and five new species, Paratydaeolus canadensis, Tydeus manitobensis, Tydeus hughesea, Tydeus brusti, and Oakvillea eglalea, are described. Five other previously described species are diagnosed and illustrated: Orthotydeus kochi Oudemans, Paratrio-phtydeus coineaui André, Tydeus oregonensis Baker, Tydeus reticulata (Oudemans), and Proctotydeus sinhai Momen. A key to the genera and species of the family Tydeidae associated with stored grain and oilseeds is given.
