Abstract

Nanocomposites development for biomedical applications are much interested in the recent years due to their potential activities. Here, the reported Gd2O3 and Nd2O3 decorated ZrO2 nanoparticles were obtained via a green-hydrothermal technique and studied for the biomedicinal applications. The structural analysis carried out with the XRD patterns revealed the monoclinic and tetragonal crystal systems of ZrO2, cubic Gd2O3 and hexagonal Nd2O3 crystal systems. Particulate morphology and composite formations were studied with the electron microscopic images. FT-IR studies recorded for the nanocomposite revealed the functional group information of the attained nanoparticles. The higher antibacterial and antifungal effect were recorded for the Gd2O3 & Nd2O3 decorated ZrO2 nanocomposite. Also, the nanocomposite had exhibited the superior performance (76%) in α-Amylase inhibition test suggesting the efficient antidiabetic activity.
