Abstract

AbstractTaking into account the longitudinal and transverse character of the excitons as well as their strong coupling with the radiation field (polariton effect) the polarization and angle dependences of the two‐photon resonance Raman‐scattering spectrum of the excitonic molecule are investigated theoretically in cubic and uniaxial crystals. Numerical calculations are carried out for CuCl and CdS in different scattering configurations. Especially the different behaviour of scattering spectrum near the MT‐ and ML,‐band is studied. Well agreement with the experimental observations in CuCl can be stated.
