Abstract

Measurements are presented of two-photon dissociative excitation cross sections for InCl and InBr for photolysis with a 248 nm KrF laser source. Values of the two-photon coupling parameter σ/I (cm4/W) of 4.9×10−27, 2.4×10−28, 7.9×10−28, and 7.8×10−28 are measured for the respective processes: 2hν+InCl→In(5s26s)+Cl, 2hν+InCl→In(5s25d)+C1, 2hν+InBr→In(5s26s)+Br, and 2hν+InBr→In(5s25d)+Br.
