Abstract

Two phonon infrared and Raman vibration spectra of amorphous semiconductors (As 2 S 3 ) 1−x (Sb 2 S 3 ) x and (As 2 Se 3 1−x (Sb 2 Se 3 ) x systems are measured. As the two phonon vibration spectra are not reproduced well by the double scaled (in wavenumber) first order vibration spectra, it is derived that the two phonon vibration spectra are composed of the overtones plus combination of the first order vibration spectra. The existence of the combination vibration of the AsX 3 and SbX 3 vibrating units suggests that a certain amount of the intermediate range interaction between these two vibration units must be considered to explain the experimental data on these systems.
