Abstract

Two new species of oak (Fagaceae) with narrowly ellipticlanceolate leaves from the Sierra Madre del Sur of western Jalisco, Mexico, are described and illustrated.Quercus cualensis is a local endemic andQ. iltisii a more widespread species; they are closely related toQ. salicifolia Nee.
