Abstract

The phytochemical investigation of the traditional ethnic medicine Oreocharis auricula led to the isolation of a new furanone derivative (1), a new phenylethanoid glycoside (2), along with five known phenylethanoid glycosides (3–7). Their structures were elucidated by their spectroscopic data analysis. All the known compounds(3–7) were isolated from genus Oreocharis for the first time. Furthermore, the chemotaxonomic significance of the isolates was discussed.
