Abstract

Bioactivity-guided fractionation of the EtOAc-soluble fraction of the total ethanolic extract resulted in the isolation and identification of two new resveratrol trimers, rockiol A (1) and rockiol B (2). The relative configurations of these compounds were elucidated mainly by comprehensive 1D and 2D NMR experiments. The two isolated compounds exhibited strong antibacterial activities against Gram-positive bacteria.
