Abstract
A METHOD of re‐using mild steel machining swarf to produce solid components has recently been investigated by the Production Engineering Research Association. Components produced in the investigation had mechanical properties comparable with those of wrought material of similar composition. It has been estimated that swarf reclamation, using the method investigated by PERA, can give material cost savings in the region of £100 per tonne.
