Abstract
A unified failure criterion for geomaterials is examined in the development of Davydenkov-Fridman ideas. Experimental data are presented for a broad range of geomaterials (from water and ice to concrete and natural stone materials; these data confirm theoretical positions on failure by separation or shear as a function of physical parameters, load path, and form of stress state.
