Abstract

Abstract A review of Soviet expedition work in the Antarctic from 1955 to 1975 traces the establishment of stations and the program of scientific observations and its most important findings. Summary tables list the leaders of expeditions, expedition vessels, operating stations and numbers of participants of all Soviet Antarctic expeditions (Appendix 1) as well as the programs of observations conducted at stations from year to year (Appendix 2).
