Abstract

The influence of ceramic rolling on the compressive mechanical properties and deformation behavior of Cu42Zr42Ag10Ti6 bulk metallic glass has been investigated. The corresponding results of the specimens with different deformation degree reveal that the ceramic rolling has a positive effect on tuning the mechanical performance. The as-rolled BMG sample with 5% thickness reduction ration exhibits a pronounced compressive strength of 1999 MPa and plastic strain of 24.3%. Such an enhanced mechanical properties result from the hydrostatic stress during ceramic rolling and the appropriate distribution and mutual interaction of the shear bands.
