Abstract

[ η 5-C 5H 4(CH 2CH 2(CF 2) 9CF 3]Rh(CO)L (L = CO ( 1) or P[CH 2CH 2(CF 2) 5CF 3] 3 ( 2)) and Cl 2Ni{P[CH 2CH 2(CF 2) 5CF 3] 3} 2 ( 3) were prepared and characterized. The fluorous partition coefficients ( P FBS = C Fluorous Phase C Other phase ) of 1 ( P FBS = 0.8), 2 ( P FBS = 29), and 3 ( P FBS = 83) for the c-C 6F 11CF 3/toluene fluorous biphase system (FBS) show that P FBS can be increased significantly increasing the number of perfluoroalkyl groups attached to the ligands.
