Abstract

The majority of surgical techniques for tubular breast correction are focusing on the hypoplastic breast, constricting ring with wide areola and high position, and the inframammary fold. The hypertrophic tubular breast has a relatively low incidence, and the surgical techniques described represent either a reduction mammaplasty with a superiorly based dermal pedicle and resection of the inferior portion of the breast, resulting in an inverted-T scar, or a modification of the Maillard Z-plasty technique. The author presents his technique for inframammary fold lowering in association with periareolar mastopexy or inverted-T scar breast reduction in the tubular breast. Significant cases are presented using a “step-by-step” analysis of the surgical procedure. Hand drawings done by the surgeon explain easier what is being done for each technique.
