Quick Links Use the “Quick Links” section of the home page to access EdFind, CE courses, the ASHA Community, the Practice Portal, and other frequently visited areas. A–Z Topic Index Use the A–Z Topic Index on the home page to quickly find information. Quote marks Use quotation marks to search for specific phrases or adjacent words (“speech perception” rather than speech perception). Plus or minus sign Use the plus or minus sign in front of the word you want to include or exclude in your search. (+Children finds only pages that contain children; -adults finds pages that do not include adults.) This “OR” that To find pages that contain at least one of the terms specified in your search, use OR. (Type screening OR testing to find pages that contain either “screening” or “testing.”) NOT Use NOT to find pages that contain your first term but not your second. (Fees NOT fiberoptic will find pages that include “fees” but not “fiberoptic.”) Keywords Avoid using very broad or narrow keywords in your search. (“Supervision courses” will likely be more effective than “supervision.”) Left navigation Left navigation options of the webpage narrow search results. For instance, if interested in a journal article on hearing loss in children, select the box in the left navigation for Journals and Perspectives. Most relevant website ASHA’s website includes several websites, such as the NSSLHA (information for students) and ASHFoundation (information on giving or grants) sites.
