Abstract

Abstract Integral to feminist theology is the development of feminist spirituality which focuses on a wholistic flourishing of life. Feminist spirituality emerges from the lived experience of women and their trust in their experience of God and themselves. This theme is explored in the lives of Mary Ward (16th century), Florence Nightingale (19th century) and the Rev. Victory Nomvete Mbanjwa (20th century). Each woman responded to God’s call with a profound trust in her experience of God in face of the fierce opposition and the massive obstacles she encountered as she sought to follow the Spirit of God into new pathways of “life to the full”.
