Abstract

Since the publication of my previous paper a considerable amount of African material of the genus has been received by the Kew and British Museum Herbaria. Amongst this material are specimens representing new species, hitherto imperfectly known species and additional geographical records. The purpose of the present paper is to bring our knowledge of the genus up to date in the light of this additional material. At the time of publication of my previous paper I was in southern Tanganyika and had the good fortune to see and collect several species of Anagallis myself. Certain observations made in the field are also included here.
