Abstract

A political leader is a person who leads and canalises a political group according to certain objectives, who coordinates the personal goals, creates a common conciousness and so enhance the political body. Today the main actors of politics is not the political parties but leaders and this reality is independent from the political system. There is a correlation between the rise of a politican and the fall of a political party. In the center of political communication are the political leaders. Success in the elections depends on the leader who is successfully positioned in political communication. Leaders with high communication and social adaptation skills affect and attract more people because they have vision, they are creative and srnsitive to the behaviors of other people. And this gives them the possibility to move easiliy for their ideas. In today’s circumstances participation of especially “the young” in politics, being active for the interest of their country, shows that democracy is functioning well in the contry. The purpose of this study is to observe the expectations of the young in the” youth branches” of politicalparties from their leaders. For this aim face to face meetings are held with the ex-senior managers of 4 political parties in Izmir. The result of these meetings will help determine the position of the youth in the party and the politics to be followed. Besides , it will be possible to find out to what extent the young members of the party are affected by the party leaders and now the political leader image of the future can be defined
