Abstract

Although the concepts of Music and Politics have different meanings and represent different fields, it can be said that they are intertwined with each other. Throughout the ages, music, which has many functions, has been used as a communication tool between society and those who govern it. From the policy window, it is seen that music is not only used to attract the attention of the society to political issues, but it is also used by the community to criticize, protest or support existing managers. The aim of this study was investigating to academic studies executed on music and politics relationship in Turkey with the bibliographic method. For this purpose, by using the keywords of Music and Politics, Turkish articles in Google Academic and TR Index, and postgraduate theses in the Council of Higher Education’s National Thesis Center database were scanned, and the studies reached were analyzed using descriptive statistics methods using frequency and percentage analysis. As a result of the research, it has been observed that there are very few studies in the form of postgraduate thesis and academic articles dealing with music and politics, and studies have been started on this subject especially in 2000s, but there have not been enough studies on this subject in recent years
