Abstract

This research evaluates with foreign trade statistics trade relations between Turkey and Germany as of the 1990-2012 the development of period, from 2002 to 2012 concentration in foreign trade between the two countries, advantageous chapters disadvantageous chapters and change in them. Accordingly, bilateral trade deficit with Germany that Turkey's most important trading partner is seen constantly except for an exceptional years. On the other hand, this study asserts that Turkey’s foreign trade with Germany from 2002 to 2012 which requires labor-intensive manufacturing in the most advantageous chapter is knitted apparel and accessories but the feature of this product group lost significantly over time. In addition, the study shows that Turkey’s foreign trade with this country from 2002 to 2012 the most disadvantaged product group is boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances, nuclear reactors, their parts and components.
