Abstract

With this study, it is aimed to evaluate the reasons for the internationalization of higher education in Turkey. It seems that higher education in Turkey has assumed an active role in almost all capillaries of life in terms of academia, culture, politics, art and economics. In order to internationalize higher education institutions in Turkey, it has been determined that recognition, visibility and mobility are international, strategy planning and student-oriented activities are implemented. With this study, it has been revealed that universities include the internationalization activity and goal in missionary and visionary documents and strategy planning, that university institutions keep their internationalization activities dependent on general evaluations, and that internationalization efforts are owned by university bodies.
