Abstract

The aim of the research is to evaluate the school administrator appointment system in Turkey and to present suggestions on this subject. The research is in the qualitative survey model and was designed with a phenomenological approach. The study group of the research; It consists of 40 people, including teachers, education administrators and education administration experts. As a data collection tool in the research, a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher was applied through interview and the collected data was subjected to content analysis. According to the results of the research, it is seen that the current situation of the school administrator appointment system in Turkey is insufficient, the written exam and interview do not measure the adequacy, and there is no success in determining the qualified and qualified administrators. The interview should be done fairly by competent and independent commissions so as not to cause negative perceptions. Suggestions for determining the appointment system with a broad perspective and establishing a fair and transparent manager appointment system with objective evaluation criteria in manager appointments become prominent.
