Abstract

The aim of this study is, through a systematic ordering of violin concertos written by Turkish composers, to make them available to those interested in this subject and to ascertain their level of usage in violin training at Music Departments of Education Faculties and Conservatories. In this study, the concertos which were located are introduced, and their level of usage at Music Departments of Education Faculties was investigated by methods of interview and questionnaire. It was found that the concertos were rarely used in the Education Faculties and their usage was very limited in Conservatoires. As a result, it is recommended that concertos should be written for use in the educational establishments, and for training young composers in. relation to composing of educational music, immediately filling this gap.
