Abstract

The release of tritium from neutron-irradiated Li 2O single crystal particles with sizes of 150 to 840 μm was measured by isothermal annealings. Time dependence of the release rate of tritium for various sizes of particles was well analyzed by a model of classical diffusion in a solid sphere. The diffusivity of tritium obtained was expressed in the temperature range from 573 to 950 K by ( D T / cm 2· s −1) = 0.116 exp(−(101±2) × 10 3 J/ RT).
