Abstract

For environmental issues, researchers are moving towards the new environment friendly materials. In the fiber reinforced polymer composites perceptive, finding the eco-friendly biodegradable materials are challenging one. The present research focuses on wear and erosion performance of composite developed with pineapple fiber as reinforcement, polyester resin as matrix and redmud an industrial waste as filler. The composites were fabricated by compression moulding machine. Pine apple fiber and matrix were taken in the ratio of 40:60. Red mud of varying weight percentages 10% and 20%wt were taken for the study. The wear and erosion performance of the composites enhance drastically by the incorporation of the redmud was evident from the results obtained.
