Abstract

The present paper deals with the role of the Asian regions of Russia (Siberia and the Russian Far East) in the production and consumption of energy resources in the country for the period up to 2050. The focus is on the dynamics and structure of energy resources outflows from the Asian regions of the country to the European part of the country and for exports to European and Asian destinations.

  • The Energy Strategy notes that a more dynamic growth of consumption and production of energy resources is expected in these regions, given that they are associated with the main prospects for increasing Russian energy supplies to the countries of Northeast Asia

  • Under the considered scenarios of Russia's economic development, energy consumption in the country should increase by 19-23%, with energy consumption in Asian regions increasing by 28-35%
