Abstract

Mosaic warts are atype of verruca vulgaris that occur almost exclusively on the soles of the feet. They are particularly known for their treatment resistance and high recurrence rate. Laser-assisted drug delivery (LADD) photodynamic therapy (PDT) with methyl aminolevulinate (MAL) offers alow pain treatment option with hardly any side effects in therapy-resistant cases of verruca plantaris. Pretreatment with anablative fractional laser is especially important to obtain penetration of MAL through the human papillomavirus (HPV)-infected skin layer.
