Abstract

The effectiveness of antihypertensive drugs is assessed by the level of lower blood pressure, as well as by reducing the risk of cardiovascular complications. The current approach to the treatment of hypertension aims to make treatment simple and effective, which is achieved by prescribing a combination of drugs, including an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor perindopril and the diuretic indapamide. This combination, according to modern research, meets the requirements of safety and efficacy, as well as due to the convenient form of the drug (Perindopress Duo, Darnitsa), which contains two drugs in one tablet, increases patient adherence to treatment. Thus, the scheme of treatment of hypertension with a fixed combination is proven to be effective, safe, convenient and cost-effective for the patient.
