Malkin) Kazan Medical Institute With regard to the etiology of rheumatoid arthritis, the most acute, controversial issue is the role of infection. ) A.I. Nesterov believes that streptococcal infection plays the role of a trigger mechanism. Streptococcus creates a lesion that leads to a toxic-allergic reaction from the joints. In accordance with this, Nesterov devotes a significant place to the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with antibiotics in parallel with desensitizing therapy.
