Abstract

In this publication, three as-synthesized silver nanowires (Ag NWs) with high purity and yield were prepared via polyol synthesis method. The Ag NWs were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and powder X-ray diffraction. The effects of crystallization time and control agents were also explored, providing an effective method to design and synthesize Ag NWs. In addition, the biological activity of the Ag NWs for senile cataract therapy was evaluated, and the related mechanism was explored. Real-time polymerase chain reaction was conducted to measure the relative expression levels of the apoptosis-related genes p53 and BCL-2 in the mRNA level. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was carried out, and TGF-β2 content was determined.
