Abstract
The scientific production of female researchers at the universities of Quito is analyzed in this study through the axes of working conditions, public and institutional policies and limitations for the development of scientific production. The objective of this study is to analyze the relationship between scientific production and family conciliation of women researchers from different areas of knowledge, problematizing the notion of scientific field with personal trajectories based on gender. Regarding the methodology, it is a qualitative study. Six in-depth interviews and a focus group with six participants were conducted. The analysis strategy being the analysis of the discourse organized by statements in relation to the categories indicated as axes.

Las trayectorias de producción científica de mujeres investigadoras han sido analizadas a partir de tres ejes principales: las condiciones de trabajo en las instituciones de educación superior, las políticas implementadas para el incremento de la producción científica sean estas institucionales o externas, y las principales limitaciones que les impiden ser más productivas. A manera de antecedentes sobre producción científica en Ecuador el personal académico dedicado a investigación ha logrado incrementar las publicaciones en gran medida. Al año 2017 el país ha conseguido ocupar la posición 6 en Latinoamérica. De estos datos surgen algunas inquietudes sobre el impacto de las investigaciones, las citaciones, cuestiones que abren posibilidades a nuevos investigaciones, y para fines de este estudio las trayectorias de producción científica de las mujeres investigadoras
