Abstract

Tests are described on an orifice hot-wire probe suitable for wall pressure fluctuation measurements. The probe was found to respond to the true pressure for both acoustic and turbulent flow excitation, with a useful frequency response up to 5 kHz in air at atmospheric pressure. A traversing pair of probes proved to be accurate for the measurement of wall pressure correlations in lowspeed air flows.
