Abstract

Traumatic endophthalmitis is a clinical entity that can develop within days or weeks after open-globe injuries and leads to a poor prognosis. It is also important in terms of the medicolegal aspect, as it requires urgent management in both prophylaxis and diagnosis and treatment, it should always be borne in mind in the management of the open-globe injury cases. In this review, risk factors, clinical features, diagnosis, and treatment modalities of traumatic endophthalmitis are discussed.
