Abstract

The flea Amphipsylla neotomae I. Fox, 1940 was described from the Desert Wood Rat, Neotoma lepida , taken southern California in March of 1934 by H. S. Gentry. This species is referable to the family Ceratophyllidae, rather than to the family Leptopsyllidae to which the genus Amphipsylla belongs. A new genus, Traubella , is erected for neotomae , and species is redescribed.
